about

I recorded this with my friend Cameron (yes, the Cameron who inspired my band name!) when I was 17 in his parent's living room.
He plays the Star Wars intro on the first track. I wanted my first ever release to start with the Star Wars theme because I was a dorky teenager and I wanted it to symbolize the opening crawl of my discography/musical journey.
I recently deleted a track from this EP entitled "Duerme Negrito." It's a lullaby that was originally sung by the enslaved people on the Venezuelan-Colombian border, later recorded in the 60s by Atahualpa Yupanqui, and then I learned it in my small town choir class in 2011. I still love the song and know all the words, but now that I am older I no longer feel like it is my place to sing it. I highly recommend listening to Lillian Channelle's version instead, she has a gorgeous voice and does it more justice than I ever could.
